Folders
One of the great new features in SiteWrench 4.0 is the ability
to use Folders to organize your files. Whether organizing your
files by what type they are (Videos, Images, Audio, Documents,
etc) or by what department will be using them the most, you
have the ability to create and edit Folders and Sub-Folders
for all of your file management needs.
Tons of file types
In most systems, when you uploaded a file it gets checked
against a list of allowable file types and is either accepted
or rejected. This method makes it hard to keep up with a constantly
growing list of file types. In Version 4, we've reversed the
model. We check your file against a list of restricted file
types. As long as your file is not on our "No" list,
you're good!
Image thumbnails and optimization
Getting an image to the optimal size for the web is probably
what website users in general struggle with most. And who can
blame them? Pictures from digital cameras are way too big for
the web and the programs to resize them never seem to be handy
when you need them.
With Files, we do the heavy lifting for you. Simply upload
your image and we'll automatically create several sizes of
thumbnails (which come in handy with our new photo galleries
and albums) and give you the option of scaling down your full
size image to a more web-appropriate size. You can also do
basic edits like rotating your image from, say, landscape to
portrait.
